Chandler {CHAN MAN} ooooh child . . . you’re really {TESTING} mommy & daddy with your poor listening skills and your lack of sleeping. You’re super independent which is great for mommy & daddy when it is time for you to do things by yourself; such as washing your hands, getting something to drink, setting the table, etc. But, sometimes you misinterpret the independence that we’ve taught you as freedom. Freedom to boss people around and act like an adult. I do not know how to get through to you, how to make you listen . . . do I just wait until this passes? Is this just a three year old thing? You’ve always been a very “do it myself” kind of kid, and we’ve always catered to you in that aspect because we wanted you to have the confidence to do things on your own, but now it seems to be back firing on us.

You’re a great big brother, but you’re definitely becoming very aware of the attention that Mars is taking away from you. It’s {HARD} to share mommy . . . but I promise it’ll get easier and before long I’m hoping that you do not even notice! I am doing my best to split my attention & try to understand how you are feeling; unfortunately, I was an only child, so I don’t know what you’re feeling. You get the most upset when mommy is feeding Mars because I cannot get up to play with you, I have to pay attention to Marshall. You said today that you do not like Marshall when he’s eating. I’m glad that you are expressing your feelings, now I just need to figure out how to make it less stressful for all of us . . . the “tricks” that I read about prior to Marshall being born are not really working out! We’ll get through this phase in our lives and we’ll all be stronger for it. Mommy and Daddy love you so much and we are so proud of you! On another note, I finished my 365 day project with a photo of you each day on Instagram, #365daysofchandler, and I’m planning on printing all the photos and making you a keepsake book.

1554538_10151933393416553_1104043648_nMarshall {MARS BAR} you’re 3 weeks old already!! You’ve already had your 1st Christmas and 1st New Years. You’re an awesome baby! You sleep through the majority of the night, at least 6 hours . . . sometimes I even have to wake you up to eat. We were on a feeding schedule, every 3 hours, but then you started {FRENZY} feeding between the hours of 5-8 PM for the past week & then today you {FRENZY} fed between the hours of 1-3 PM. So, no more schedule . . . I’m just feeding you anytime and every time you’re hungry. Every once in awhile Daddy gets to feed you a bottle, it’s nice for you two to have a little bonding time. I like to call you Squeaks because, well, you have this random and adorable squeak. Mommy is having a lot of fun with you and savoring every moment of your babyhood because I know how quickly it will be gone!

I cannot begin to imagine how our lives are going to change in 2014, how we are going to transition into a family of four, how your relationship with Chan will blossom, and all of the milestones that you will reach, but I’m looking forward to every minute of it. I’ve started a 365 day project with photos on you on Instagram, #365daysofmarshall, and I cannot wait to take a photo of you everyday and see how much you grow this first year!

Sleep tight little ones!

Love,

Your Mommy ❤
